The Isle Of Skye has always had a great reputation for traditional music,
recently though it has gained a reputation for a great electronic scene
mainly due to the islands most established club night - Non-stop.
Non-stop was founded in 1997 by Ali Mcfly who is a Dj & Promoter from the Isle Of Skye.
Non-stop took off around 1999-2000 when Ali was joined by Ali Maclennan and Malky Shiloh
and started promoting nights in Broadford on the Isle of Skye.
Djs have included Slam, Weatherall, Alfos, Ralph Lawson, Silicone Soul, Justin Robertson
and many others since 1999.
Non-stop also hosted the dance tent for The Skye Music Festival where they worked
alongside Soma to bring some of the best underground talent to the Island.
Ali Mcfly has recently co-founded Skyelive music festival which has become a sucsess.
Skyelive has attracted many large name djs such as Jackmaster, Denis Sulta, Erol Alkin, Ame,
Bicep, Patrice Bamuel, Joy Orbison amongst others.
Ali believes one of the main reasons Skyelive got off the ground was down to
the scene created locally by Non-stop over the years.
Non-stop is unique in that there is a lot of effort made towards
sound, lighting and visuals which Ali believes is as important as any guest booked.
The Non-stop team are working towards owning their own venue on Skye where they can really
stamp there mark on the quality of the production - watch this space!
